Can I Still Grow my Facebook Page Organically?
The short answer is yes, however, expect it to be slow. It is certainly easier if you already have a large following as Facebook pushes your page out to more people in the “recommended to follow.”
There are some key things you can do to play to the strengths of Facebook and push your content to more people.
Facebook Lives
I know these can be cringeworthy but you will get used to them. The trick is to tell people when you will be going live so people can jump on it and engage straight away. The more people that like, comment and engage on a live broadcast as soon as it is live means Facebook will push it out to more people in their newsfeeds.
Longer video content
Now you have probably read and heard that video content is king on social media, well it is and it isn’t. You can no longer post a 30-second clip and expect it to get tons of reach and engagement. They want longer video content from you and they are not just happy with the cheap quickie they used to be.
Viral content
Hint: this doesn’t mean a sales post! This means something people are going to find funny, engaging and want to share with their friends and family. Sorry, but people don’t usually want to share your sales post, unfortunately. However, if they share a great meme or graphic you created you may just reach more people organically and therefore, as a result, your sales posts will reach more people.
Invite people to like your page
When someone likes one of your viral posts, live posts or video content you can invite them to like your fan page. They will either go straight to the page and scroll through and check you out or they will start to see your posts in their feed. Either way, it is a win-win.
Create a group that links to your page
A group of like-minded potential customers is a great way to stay in the forefront of your target customer’s mind. Why not create a group of people that would be interested or would complement your product. For retreat owners for example, create a group for all those that have been to the retreat, are interested in attending and allow them to network and promote your retreat for you by creating discussions and engagement all focused around their experiences.
